Studies in English
CUT offers three-year taught full-time BSc studies in English. If you choose this option you can benefit from a unique educational offer that will help you develop a wide range of useful and transferable skills.
In the academic year 2009/2010, the CUT opened English-taught BSc courses in the following fields of study:
- Biotechnology for Environmental Protection (BEP)

- Business and Technology (BT)
- Computer Modelling and Simulation (CMS)
- Intelligent Energy (IE)
All lectures, classes and projects are conducted entirely in English.
The English-taught MSc courses for above mentioned fields of study will be available in the academic year 2013/2014.
The main objective of studies in English is to educate future engineers who, while gaining in-depth professional knowledge of their fields of study, will also develop excellent linguistic competence in ESP and Business English.
The studies are run by the following faculties:
- Faculty of Environmental Protection and Engineering,
- Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science,
- Faculty of Management.
The teaching staff of the courses in English consists of the academics who have experience in the area of international cooperation as well as lecturers invited from partner universities. Here are some of them:
- prof. J.Werther (Technical University of Hamburg, Germany)
- prof. Herricos Stapountzis (University of Thessaly, Greece)
- prof. Ralph Lescroart (Institute Blaise Pascal, Haute Ecole Blaise Pascal Virton, Belgium)
- prof. Genevieve Comte-Bellot (Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France)
- prof. Philippe Blanc-Benon (Ecole Centrale de Lyon, France)
The University collaborates with many EU higher education institutions and students are given the opportunity to study for one semester at any of the selected foreign academic centres (it is so-called mobility semester, i.e. a semester of studying in one of European universities financed by the LLP-Erasmus programme).
The studies take place in a two-level system – I degree and II degree studies (Bachelor level and Master level studies).
According to the declared specialization of study, prospective students should apply to the Faculty which runs the particular specialization.

Description of CUT courses in English:
Business and Technology (BT)
It is a course offered by the Faculty of Management. This course is designed to create specialists who are able to combine technical and economic knowledge, and who respond creatively to new challenges of the European and world business. They will be able to acquire knowledge and advanced skills that will help them enjoy a successful career in foreign companies.

Computer Modelling and Simulation (CMS)
This course is organised by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science within the framework of 'ordered fields of study' programmme. The aim of the course is to provide specialists in the computer modelling of systems and technological processes who will be able to meet the requirements of research and development centres.

Biotechnology for Environmental Protection (BEP)
This course is conducted by the Faculty of Environmental Protection and Engineering. It aims to provide students with an opportunity to study the latest developments in biotechnology in the field of environmental protection as well as to equip them with practical skills in this area.
