CUT Alumni

CUT, the University with a sixty-year tradition, is proud of its many generations of graduates. Contacts with former students are maintained through the CUT Alumni Association. Its mission is to promote the University both at home and abroad and to show our young graduates a way to a successful career. The Association was established in 1989 and carries on the traditions of the former Graduates' Club, which had been operating at the University since the 1960s. Each graduate is eligible to become a member of the Association after having signed a declaration form.

Regularly held, bonding events develop collaboration among CUT graduates, help them keep in touch with the University and old friends but also are a great opportunity to make new friends. An elite Integration-Promotion Club, which has been set up as part of the Association, is mainly comprised of managers, company owners and presidents, and is responsible for graduates promotion events.

Every year the Association elects the Graduate of the Year, an arrangement which was initiated in 2000. The candidates for the Graduate of the Year Title are proposed by other graduates, academic staff or people somehow associated with the University. They are supposed to present the candidates' achievements in the field of economy, politics or social activities and show how those achievements foster the promotion of the University. The Graduate of the Year election involves the presentation of the best nominees' profiles, out of which the ten best candidates are selected by the Award Committee. In the next stages of the election, through voting by secret ballot, three best candidates are selected. The graduate with the largest number of votes is awarded the Graduate of the Year Title. The awards are presented each year at a special ceremony.

The Association also organizes University Skiing Championships, which are held in March each year and Jurassic Car Rallies, held on the second Saturday of May. During an annual study workshop the Conservation of the Industrial Heritage Club reconstructed, a unique in Europe, puddling furnace in the Staropolska Region Museum in Sielpia Wielka.

There are 5 Regional Circles for alumni under the Association banner, in Warsaw, Świętochłowice, Zawiercie, Bełchatów and Częstochowa.
